Luxembourg, 23 February 2023 – Metalcorp Group S.A., a global service provider for the procurement, production, mining and marketing of metals and minerals, is pleased to announce that after several years of investment and preparation, the first commercial shipment of bauxite with a total amount of 160,000 tonnes has taken place. The bauxite is produced by Metalcorp’s subsidiary Société des Bauxites de Guinée (SBG) at its own mine located in Garafiri in Guinea and exported with infrastructure designed for this purpose. The designated port facility located in the Konta region directly loads the Bauxite onto barges that deliver the material to a transhipment vessel, the transhipment vessel then completes the final loading of Bauxite onto a Cape Size vessel destined for an end-user in China.
